Glow Plug Connector (Crain Engineering Version)

Meet your new favorite Glow Plug connector!

It’s no secret that I’m not a fan of the Glow Plug connector that is currently available on the market. I only sell them because they are the only ones still being manufactured. Many of you have struggled with these ‘Spark Plug Wire” type connectors so I decided to start manufacturing a connector of my own.
I can’t take credit for the design because it was a customer who told me about this method of making Glow Plug Connectors.

This connector is a metal collar with a wire soldered into the body. Slip it over the Glow Plug post and tighten the hex screw and you’ll have a very low profile, solid connection. I use a high quality silicone wire that won’t melt, has very high current capacity and is very flexible. Plus you will have a full two feet of wire so you shouldn’t have to splice an extension wire for most plane setups.

Note – Slip the insulating washer on first so you won’t accidentally short the Glow Plug Post to the body. See picture for details.
